Zhou Shilin is a highly collected artist across two different art disciplines: contemporary ink and oil painting. Based in Tianjin, Zhou Shilin is a full tenured Professor of the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, one of the most prestigious art academies in China. Zhou's ink paintings are recognized for their contemporary ink painting techniques. His oil paintings are recognized for their thick, sculpture-like brush strokes and vibrant, life-like colors.
Zhou Shilin's works have been collected by the China National Art Museum in Beijing, Jiangsu Province Academy of Chinese Painting in Nanjing, Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, the Tianjin Art Museum and The Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia. In addition to exhibitions of his works in China and the US, Zhou Shilin has lectured and exhibited in Belgium, Germany, Russia, Taiwan and Vietnam.
Zhou Shilin, often accompanies his students to remote natural sites in China to help them draw inspiration from their natural surroundings to incorporate into their work.
